Kids, Teens, Young Adults

- Coping skills group for kids ages 7-13: A camp-like experience that is fun yet teaches practical skills to recognize emotions and effectively cope with uncomfortable emotions and stressors in life. This group is great for kids who need help in adjusting to new situations, feel overwhelmed with stress, or have anxiety. The group meets every other Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. 


Coping skills for teens who feel "over-emotional or reactive." Intended for teens ages 13-18 who experience intense emotions and have difficulty coping in healthy ways. Great for teens whose emotions and behaviors may feel out of control. Objectives include: improving one's understanding of why we feel what we feel; increase insight and improve ability to label emotions; learn and practice a variety of effective coping skills (specifically CBT and DBT); use skills to manage emotions and eliminate behaviors such as emotional outbursts, cutting, isolation, suicidal thoughts/threats, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and fighting with others. The group meets every other Wednesday from 6:15 pm-7:15 pm.

- Coping skills for young adults who feel "over-emotional or reactive." Intended for individuals between the ages of 18 (in college) and 30 who experience intense emotions and have difficulty coping in healthy ways. For young adults whose emotions and behaviors may feel out of control. Objectives include: improve understanding of why we feel what we feel; increase insight and improve the ability to label emotions; learn and practice a variety of effective coping skills (specifically CBT and DBT); use skills to manage emotions and eliminate behaviors such as emotional outbursts, cutting, isolation, suicidal thoughts/threats, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and fighting with others. The group meets every other Thursday from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm. 

- Support group for parents/guardians of teens and young adults who are "over-emotional or reactive." Intended for parents/guardians who struggle with knowing how to parent their child who experiences intense emotions. This group will offer practical skills and emotional support. The group meets every other Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. 

- Support group for young adults diagnosed with chronic illness. Intended for individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 who experience wide-ranging emotions related to chronic illness. This group will offer practical skills and emotional support. The group meets every other Thursday from 7:45 to 9:00 pm.  

-Spiritual Disciplines Group is for adults ages 18 and older. This is a group where we teach tools to help individuals grow in their faith. The tools help individuals develop good habits and learn new patterns of behavior. This discussion will focus on spiritual disciplines from a Christian perspective. When these practices are implemented on a consistent basis, there will be a noticeable improvement in the ability to exercise good self-care. This group will be led by our Spiritual Director, Linda Gaines. The groups meets every Monday for 6 weeks starting on September 12th- October 17th from 6:00-7:00pm.

-Surviving and Thriving the Holiday Season (support group offered during each Holiday Season). The holiday season is a time of celebration, gratitude, and joy. It can also be a time of disappointment, sadness, and intense pressure. This group is designed to provide practical suggestions from a Christian perspective, of ways in which to manage the emotional, physical and mental demands of the season. This group will be led by our Spiritual Director, Linda Gaines. This group will meet on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm during the 2022 Holiday Season.
