Patricia Shumay

Patricia Shumay is a licensed professional counselor and owner of Shumay Counseling Services, LLC. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. 

Patricia is experienced in assisting individuals and couples with a wide variety of emotional and relational issues. However, she chose to specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and couples therapy during her advanced internship. Prior to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, Patricia excelled in various corporate settings as a manager and entrepreneur. She brings the same dedication and superior level of service to her present clients, whether an individual, couple, group or corporation. 

Patricia is a member of the American Counseling Association, Ohio Counseling Association, Ohio Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling, and previous Newsletter Chairperson of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society, Kappa Sigma Upsilon Chapter at Kent State University. She also serves on the leadership team of Under His Wings Ministry, where she equips and encourages Christian leaders in various business, church, and retreat settings through presentations and group activities.

When not counseling, researching, or serving, Patricia enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, tennis, running, hiking, going to musicals and the orchestra, and spending time with her family and friends.
